Brussels, 05 May 2003
A conference on the objectives and challenges of the second information society technologies (IST) call for proposals under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) will take place on 10 and 11 June in Hertfordshire, UK.
The main aim of the event is to present an overview of FP6 participation and the basics for submitting a proposal to the Commission. Participants will also have an opportunity to discuss the outcome of the first call for proposals for the IST programme under FP6.
In addition to the main conference, a series of parallel workshops will take place, providing participants with a platform to discuss general IST issues, as well as more specific manufacturing related problems. Other topics for discussion include the 'Joint Call 2010', GRID based systems and contracts, and financial guidelines.
Speakers at the event will include National Contact Point (NCP) officials, Commission evaluators and case study representatives.
The event is being organised by the UK department of trade and industry's European funding support initiative, UKISHelp, together with the NCP for manufacturing in IST, MANist.
