Brussels, 08 May 2003
A conference entitled 'joint EU action on environmental technologies' will take place on 26 and May in Vienna, Austria.
The conference is aimed at discussing the diffusion of new environmental technologies for sustainability, with a view to contributing to European policy in this area.
To achieve this, the conference will try to identify promising technologies, barriers and action points, paying particular attention to the Commission's goal of setting up an environmental technology action plan (ETAP) by the end of 2003.
The event is being organised by Austrian government and the Austrian Federation of industry, with the support of the Greek EU presidency.
The consultation period for the Commission's proposed Environment Technology Action Plan closes on 15 May. Interested parties are invited to submit comments before that date at the reference below.
