Oxford University Student Union has criticised plans by colleges, spearheaded by Trinity, to raise rents. Trinity plans a 57 per cent increase over four years, adding more than £4,000 to student costs. Trinity's president, Michael Beloff QC, said the college could no longer justify subsidising students up to £250,000 a year. Some £10,000 will go towards helping poor students pay the higher charges.
