US to vet elected Iraqi rectors and deans
The United States administration has banned Ba'ath Party members from key academic posts at Iraqi universities and is to vet elected rectors and deans for possible implication in illegal weapons research or human rights abuses. The re-election of a former Ba'athist dean at the University of Two Rivers in Baghdad has already fallen foul of the de-Ba'athification programme.
