Brussels, 12 Jun 2003
The Commission is to host a conference on the theme of context-aware collaboration in future workspaces on 30 June in Brussels.
To prepare for research activities under the Sixth Framework Programme, the last call for tenders of the Fifth Framework Programme included a number of so-called 'roadmap projects'.
In the context of future workspaces, these roadmap projects sought to develop a medium to long term vision for research and technology development, to identify the key European players and stakeholders and to discuss possible implementation paths.
Both roadmap projects have brought together an extensive group of industrial and research stakeholders as well as small and medium sized enterprises to contribute to developing the vision and research agenda.
The conference aims to bring together research and industry stakeholders to present, challenge and validate the roadmap results, to discuss approaches for realising the visions and to provide an opportunity to bring in additional or new viewpoints and extend the network. Besides the presentation of roadmap results, several invited industry and research speakers will present their viewpoints.
