Conference on smart optics for defence

The Smart Optics Faraday Partnership is organising a conference on smart optics for defence, to take place on 11 September in London, UK.

Modern warfare is being revolutionised by the application of advanced technology, with optics playing a central role. This event aims to inform the defence community of the latest research advances in smart optical systems and how they are being applied.

Topics for discussion will include:
- adaptive optics;
- hyperspectral optics;
- wavefront sensing;
- laser propagation in the atmosphere;
- target acquisition and identification;
- ultra lightweight adaptive optics for remote sensing;
- advanced 'near to eye' helmet mounted displays.
