The EU funded Lido project will hold a workshop on 'lighting in museums - assessment and control' in Florence, Italy, on and 28 November.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
- increase awareness of the effect of light on cultural heritage;
- promote a new preventive conservation tool;
- present the development of a novel method for monitoring light;
- contribute to a better understanding of artificial versus natural light aging of materials;
- improve networking between different projects on related topics.
The Lido project is funded under the 'energy, environment and sustainable development' section of the Fifth Framework Programme, under the key action 'the city of tomorrow and cultural heritage'.
