Bournemouth University has established a national resource centre dealing with history of defence electronics. It comes under the department of conservation sciences and aims to contribute to the study and public awareness of the history of electronics.
The Centre for the History of Defence Electronics (CHiDE) will concentrate initially on radar, sonar, communications and electronic counter measures with their wider social consequences. It will compile a comprehensive archive and historical record and will have multimedia databases, CD-ROM and access to the Internet.
