Chris Masters has fanned the flames of traditional emnity between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The two cities were bitter rivals for the recent title of City of Architecture, and Dr Masters, chairman of the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council's quality assessment committee, remarked that SHEFC was interested to see the winner.
Glasgow, was living up to its title. Glasgow School of Art and Strathclyde University were each rated excellent in architecture quality assessments, while Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art only mustered a highly satisfactory.
