The first Iraqis to study at British universities under the prestigious Chevening scholarship scheme since 1993 arrived in the UK this week to pursue specialist training in oil industry-related topics at Imperial College, London, Robert Gordon University, Dundee University and the University of Manchester Institute of Science Technology. They will be followed by others on scholarships jointly funded by the Department of Trade and Industry and a number of British companies including AMEC, Premier Oil and Shell.
