University hospitals have set up a body to represent themselves.
The Association of UK University Hospitals will take over from the UK University Hospitals Forum, which has 37 members, and will hold its inaugural meeting in May.
Jonathan Michael, the chairman, said: "The name change reflects the priorities of the new organisation. The association will represent the unique tripartite service, teaching and research interests of UK university hospital trusts, in partnership with other national bodies."
