Cuts to research into education must be halted, the British Educational Research Association has said. It has begun a letter-writing campaign targeting MPs with lower-rated education research departments in their constituencies. These include Charles Clarke, the education secretary, whose Norwich South seat is home to education researchers at the University of East Anglia. Another target is Margaret Hodge, the former higher education minister, whose Barking constituency contains the University of East London.
