Jim Wallace, Scotland's Lifelong Learning Minister, has ruled out paying science graduates larger salaries or writing off their student debts to attract them into teaching. He rejected the call from the Scottish Science Advisory Committee, saying Scotland did not suffer the same acute teacher shortages as England.
