Students may get debt relief from the Government if they spend their gap year doing voluntary work in their communities or public services, it was reported this week.
Although the Government declined to confirm its plans, it was reported that ministers were poised to endorse the idea of rewarding student volunteering with financial aid for their tuition fees. A commission considering youth volunteering is due to report at the end of this year.
