Dr Goshworthy “may well have found the remains of a savoury sausage in the fridge” (The Poppletonian, 10 March), but he is not right “to use Hotelling’s T test to supplement his analysis of variance”. For no such test exists. However, Hotelling’s T‑squared is a multivariate distribution and might be of some use here.
