The last institution with "polytechnic" in its title has won permission to change its name. Anglia Polytechnic University is set to become Anglia Ruskin University, after the Victorian writer John Ruskin.
David Tidmarsh, vice-chancellor, said "polytechnic" was a "confusing and outdated" term.
