The worlds of Shakespeare and wrestling came together in a play performed at Teesside University this month. Anton Hecht's play Wrestling Shakespeare involves actors orating Shakespearean text while engaged in wrestling bouts. Mark Dooley, acting head for English studies at the university, said: 'It gives our students and others the opportunity to widen their understanding of the ways in which literary texts and figures are endlessly adapted in contemporary culture'
