Although academic conferences frequently offer reduced-rate registration for students, with the rise of zero-hour contracts in higher education there is an increasing need for reductions for lecturers on low wages.
These lecturers are often ineligible for institutional assistance in attending conferences, but rarely is there any recognition of this in the fee structures for conferences.
