Karnatak University Dharwad is a public university located in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. Established in 1949, the university was the second university to be formed in the state of Karnataka.
The university has faculties in arts, commerce, education, law, management, science and technology, and social sciences.
Additionally, the university has five constituent colleges that offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in fields like science, arts, commerce, fine arts, law, and education. It also has over 200 affiliated colleges.
Karnatak University runs three postgraduate Centers in Karwar, Haveri, and Gadag. These centres serve the local population and promote specialised studies.
The university offers various recreational and sports facilities, including tennis courts, basketball court, swimming pool, volleyball court, gymnasium, indoor shuttle badminton court, and table tennis facilities. There is also an air-conditioned auditorium called "Annaji Rao Sirur Rangamandira" situated in the Karnataka College campus.
Other facilities on campus include a credit co-operative society for employees, central canteen and small canteens, banking services, postal services, and shops.
Hostel facilities are provided for male and female students, and the Kannada Medium Primary School offers places to children of university employees. The university also has "Vishvachetana," a cultural organisation that organises activities for students and staff.
