Liverpool University scientist Alexis Nzila was recognised by the Royal Society this week for advancing discoveries into treatments for malaria. Dr Nzila was presented with the Pfizer Award, which includes a £60,000 grant for scientific research plus a further £5,000 prize money, for his research into the similarities between cancer and malaria, and his contribution to developing possible malaria treatments.
