Leeds Metropolitan University is to hold undergraduate tuition fees at Pounds 2,000 for full-time home students in 2007, its governors decided this week.
The decision to continue with the lower charge comes after the university saw applications rise by more than 12 per cent this year, bucking national and regional trends.
Simon Lee, Leeds Met vice-chancellor, said the decision would give further momentum to the university's "low-charging, high-impact approach".
