A Manchester University spin-off company, Transitive Ltd, which develops computer chip technology, has won £500,000 in the inaugural Knowledge Transfer Challenge, run by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
The EPSRC launched the KT Challenge this year to celebrate the transfer of academic knowledge to industry. Transitive beat hundreds of entries to scoop the prize money.
