The research councils and Universities UK are to publish draft proposals for a revamped concordat and code of practice for research staff in universities at the end of this month.
The concordat has acted as a benchmark for good practice in managing research staff and their employment conditions since 1996. It will be updated to take account of changes in the law and to align with Europe.
A final document, following a consultation, is expected by October.
