Queen Margaret University College this week shed its college tag as it became Edinburgh's fourth full university.
Queen Margaret was granted full degree-awarding powers in 1998, and it was given the title of university college in 1999. The Privy Council confirmed full university status this week.
The institution, which was founded in 1875, specialises in courses aimed at the health professions, business and the arts.
