Arne Westad, convener of the London School of Economics'
international history department and co-director of the Cold War Studies Centre, has been shortlisted for the Arthur Ross Book Award for The Global Cold War: Third-World Interventions and the Making of Our Times .
The award, from the Council for Foreign Relations, recognises books that have made an outstanding contribution to the understanding of foreign policy or international relations.
