Science computing in the UK will be boosted by a further £30 million in research council funding for the UK's largest scientific Grid. The Grid will analyse data from the Large Hadron Collider, a new particle accelerator based at Cern, the European particle physics centre near Geneva. The LHC will come into operation this year.
