York University has stepped up its research into nanomaterials with the opening of the York Jeol Nanocentre.
Pratibha Gai, Jeol professor of electron microscopy, and Edward Boyes of the departments of physics and electronics are co-directors of the centre, which represents a £5.5 million investment by the university, the regional development agency Yorkshire Forward, the European Union and Jeol, the scientific instruments supplier.
