Cheryl MacNeil, a home economics graduate of Edinburgh's Queen Margaret University, has highlighted the value of her education in the institution's alumni newsletter.
She now teaches in Tasmania, and writes: "The school principal was from Nottingham and was aware of the very high regard in which Queen Margaret qualifications are held - in fact, he approved a pay rise for me on that basis."
