Gigi Hennessy is a second year PhD student at the Laboratory of Apiculture and Social Insects, University of Sussex. She conducts research on how weather impacts bee foraging as well as the conservation ecology of three solitary bee species. She started her academic career at Leeds University studying zoology, then moving to Cornwall for a masters in evolutionary and behavioural ecology. Between her masters and PhD she worked at Chessington Zoo in the reptile and invertebrate house, sparking a love for insects.
