Students at Coventry University had a feeling of deja vu when they discovered that their latest online module test was identical to a "practice" paper that had been posted on Coventry's website. Paul Ivey, dean of engineering and computing, blamed "operational problems", and said some students could have been tipped off to the error, since they sat the test in three batches over the day. Some 160 business information technology students have now retaken the exam. Student Aftar Mohammed complained: "We are paying for the university's mistake. They said that security measures had failed and that they are not accusing anyone of cheating, which does not make sense."
