The House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee has raised concerns about a skills shortage in the space industry. In its report 2007: A Space Policy , it warned that potential space scientists and engineers may be moving into other sectors due to the low profile of the industry. It wants incentives to encourage scientists into the field, which is essential to the UK's prowess in space exploration, satellite navigation and Earth observation.
