The Economic and Social Research Council has appointed Patricia Broadfoot, vice-chancellor of Gloucestershire University, as chair of the body overseeing the governance of the new UK Household Longitudinal Study.
UKHLS is a £15.5 million investment between the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills and the ESRC. It will be the world's largest household panel study.
