Researchers at University College London, Oxford University and the Institute of Cancer Research are to spend £5 million developing a new ultrasound technique to treat abdominal cancers.
The team, based in UCL's mechanical engineering department, has been granted the award by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. More than half of the 20,000 people diagnosed each year with upper abdominal cancer die.
