Sheffield University's Centre for the Study of Childhood and Youth has launched a new electronic journal for its postgraduate students. The journal, Childhoods Today , adheres to the same principles as conventional journals but is designed to provide students with valuable experience of publishing research in a slightly less competitive forum. Adrian James, editor of Childhoods Today , said it aided international benchmarking of graduate training.
