Nobel laureate Sir Martin Evans is visiting leading universities and research organisations in the US to promote links with Cardiff University. Sir Martin, director of Cardiff's School of Biosciences, is accompanying David Grant, the vice-chancellor, on a tour during which Cardiff's first formal agreement with an Ivy League institution, the University of Pennsylvania, will be signed. Cardiff has elicited increasing interest from US institutions since joining Times Higher Education's list of top 100 world universities.
