In Classics, King’s College London and the University of Manchester are tied for the number one spot after both institutions significantly improved on their performances in 2014. In third place is the University of Warwick, followed by the universities of Durham and Exeter, in joint fourth.
The University of Oxford finished joint sixth, alongside the University of Kent, but Oxford is ranked top for research power after submitting more researchers (91 FTE) than any other institution, with the University of Cambridge (58 FTE) entering the second highest number.
At a national level the Classics UoA has a GPA of 3.28, with 45 per cent of its submission rated 4*. 448.43 FTE staff were submitted to this UoA.
