A national framework for qualifications for 14 to 19-year-olds should be introduced, says a report from the House of Commons select committee on education.
The MPs endorsed a four-level framework proposal from Sir Ron Dearing, whose review of the subject will be published shortly. Qualifications would be divided into entry, foundation, intermediate and advanced levels.
MPs said: "It would be easier for students, parents and employers to understand how any particular qualification compared with another."
