Work has begun on Nottingham Trent University's Pounds 13 million Boots electronic library. Besides four library floors, the wedge-shaped 7000-square metre building will have a 368-seat lecture theatre and a management centre offering training, advice and high-tech facilities to East Midlands businesses. The university says the new library will eventually offer a 24- hour learning environment accessible from halls of residence, associate colleges or local companies. The Boots Company, Nottingham's largest private sector employer, has contributed an undisclosed sum.
