The principal of Harper Adams Agricultural College, Shropshire, has been replaced. In a surprise move, Graham McConnell left his post by mutual agreement with the college governors last week and former vice-principal Wynne Jones has been appointed in his place. Mr McConnell, 50, arrived at the college two years ago after 16 years as principal of a farm management college in Australia.
