VOLTAIRE'S CONTEMPORARIES

The Eldon Gallery at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford is exhibiting 18th-century drawings in the lifetime of Voltaire. The exhibition, which includes work by Watteau, J-B Greuze, Boucher and J.B.M. SENGA

BEYOND BOUNDARIES

The European Studies Research Institute at the University of Salford is marking its first anniversary with a cross-disciplinary conference on the emergence of a new Europe on November 11-12. The conference aims to bring together researchers wishing to cross disciplinary boundaries to address both specific and general issues dealing with the recomposition and reconstruction at many levels (socio-political, historical, literary, cultural, economic, environmental and linguistic). DYSLEXIA WORKSHOP

Since the early signs of dyslexia are apparent to the trained eye, the vital work on training methods for teachers to provide sympathetic and skilled support for children with learning difficulties carried out at the School of Education, University of Leicester will form the basis of a conference/workshop to be held on November 19.
