Mike Scott, universities and colleges liaison officer of the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, speaking at a recent Council of Europe conference on higher education access, revealed that some countries give priority to mothers with three or more children. "This throws a whole new light on the idea of preparing for entry to higher education," he remarked.
