The University of Hertfordshire has been awarded Pounds 462,000 to set up a digitisation centre which will convert more than a million pages of text a year into electronic form, making printed materials more widely accessible to higher education institutions. The grant is from the Joint Information Systems Committee's Electronic Libraries (eLib) programme. The centre will use state of the art scanning and digitisation equipment and specialised consultancy staff to guarantee high quality results.
