Chairs

UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM. Professors: Stephen Busby, reader in the school of biochemistry; Jayne Franklin, reader in medicine and honorary consultant physician; Baz Jackson, reader in bioenergetics; John Kinson, reader in high energy physics.

The following have been appointed: K. K. Cheng, senior lecturer in the department of public health and epidemiology and honorary consultant, to the chair of epidemiology;Kenneth Harris, lecturer in physical chemistry at University College London, to the chair of structural chemistry; John Hunter, reader in archaeology at the University of Bradford, to the chair of ancient history and archaeology; Andrew King, reader in theoretical mechanics at the University of Nottingham, to the chair of applied mathematics;Peter Knowles, lecturer at the University of Sussex, to the chair of theoretical chemistry; Eamonn Maher, lecturer and consultant in medical genetics at the University of Cambridge, to the chair of medical genetics.
