Richard Greenbury, chairman of Marks and Spencer, has been appointed chairman of the board of governors. Bernard Wassester, professor of history, was recently appointed president.

NORTHERN SCHOOL OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE

Gurmit Hukam, who has been teaching contemporary dance at Newcastle College, has been appointed head of contemporary dance studies and third-year leader.

ROYAL BROMPTON HOSPITAL NHS TRUST

Mark Taylor, chief executive of Royal Devon and Exeter Health Care Trust and former president and chief executive officer of the Addiction Research Foundation, has been appointed chief executive from August 1.

QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY BELFAST

Dermot O'Reilly, former locum consultant in public health medicine and research fellow in the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry, deputy director of the health and health-care research unit.

UNIVERSITIES SUPERANNUATION SCHEME

Graeme Davies, principal of the University of Glasgow, former chief executive of the HEFCE and former vice chancellor of the University of Liverpool, has been appointed chairman.

UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL ENGLAND

John Rouse, deputy head of the department of management, has been appointed head of the new faculty of law and social services. He has also been awarded a professorship.
