HARKNESS FELLOWSHIP
Fellowships for 1996/97 have been awarded to: Darren Shickle, lecturer in the centre for applied public health medicine at University of Wales College of Medicine, for research into United States ethics committees and consultation services and an examination of government and other organisations' policies on genetics and resource allocation; James Thompson, director of theatre in prisons and probation centre and visiting lecturer at the drama department, University of Manchester, to examine how theatre and drama can develop the capacities of young people at risk and develop positive approaches to tackle drugs and gang violence.
