But Labour higher education spokesman Bryan Davies considered it well worth the associated invective from a Scottish Nationalist education spokeswoman, Janet Law, in order for Labour to be accused, in a splendidly Freudian Glasgow Herald misprint, of renouncing its historic commitment "to the student rant".
