The UK's two largest lecturers' unions have relaunched potential merger talks following the failure of an existing scheme to achieve greater unity. Executive members of the Association of University Teachers and Natfhe met last Friday and agreed to make a fresh start on developing new arrangements. The aim is to produce a draft agreement by next Easter which will be put to members of both unions for ratification at their annual conferences.
