Geoffrey Alderman's reluctance to give his services for free to a "private for-profit company" ("Shake the moneymakers", Letters, 28 June) seems at odds with his obvious willingness to contribute (gratis) several column inches to the letters pages of the private for-profit company known as Times Higher Education - or did you neglect to print a postscript demanding a fee?
