The suggestion that Pearson's apparent interest in acquiring the College of Law (The Week in Higher Education, 15 December) might cause the state-funded sector to "...feel like wildebeest about to compete against some large tigers" is apposite but geographically suspect.
As any fule kno, tigers are generally found in Asia and wildebeest in the plains of Africa: hence, in the wild, ne'er the twain would meet. Wildebeest versus lions, though: now there's a thought.
