Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A good degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications like registered PE/CEng would be advantageous. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience with mechanical systems in Building services environments or facility design consultancy would be preferred. Experience in following areas is highly desirable: Both design and management of mechanical building systems. Use of BIM software for design and engineering works and develop BIM models as well as knowledge in using CAD software such as REVIT, AutoDesk and ArchiCAD. Have working knowledge of building services systems such as Heat Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, lift, heat exchangers, micro-climate, simulations, fire-testing and acoustic experiments Have prior working experience in building and facility management Having experience with materials and materials property as well as materials testing, and fire testing is advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT as well as experience with Green Marking and energy management is advantageous. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

The School of Dance offers full-time programmes from sub-degree Diploma to postgraduate level (with a new doctoral degree expected to commence in 2027), together with its part-time Gifted Young Dancer Programme. In keeping with its conservatoire status, the School's philosophy is centred around performance practice and reflects the unique cultural mix of Hong Kong, emphasising both Chinese and Western traditions. Our graduates are versatile and work across genres/styles, media and forms; and the integration of core contextual knowledge and performance practice as theory and practice forms the uniqueness of the School's programmes. As part of the Academy’s senior management team, the Dean will undertake a broad range of duties at Academy and School levels. The Dean of Dance will be a highly experienced performing arts practitioner and educator who will bring high level discipline-based expertise to the Academy to ensure that the School maintains its place as a leader in dance education within the higher education sector. The Dean will be responsible to the Deputy Director (Academic) for the academic, artistic and operational management of the School. The Dean is expected to lead and shape the overall vision and academic development of the School during a period of significant and exciting development within the Academy and the higher education sector in Hong Kong. The postholder will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues in delivering the Academy’s Strategic Plan 2024-2033. The Dean will work closely with senior staff to promote innovative developments in the delivery of performing arts education, with a particular focus on the Academy’s unique strengths, including its location in a dynamic and diverse cultural metropolis, and its focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, arts technology and original creativity. The Dean will also play an important role in the development of local, regional and international partnerships in the field of dance education, building upon existing strengths and developing new areas that support the overall growth and positioning of the School. Although subject to negotiation, the expected commencement date is 1 August 2026. Key requirements: The eligible candidate should have a strong track record as a leading expert in the field of Dance, including the following attributes: Strong academic and/or professional background in dance. Strong track record of teaching, scholarly achievement and curriculum development. Demonstrated record of successful artistic, academic and administrative accomplishment in leading an academic community with diversified interests. A successful track record of leadership within an educational institution or similar performing arts based organisation. Solid knowledge of trends and developments in performing arts education, as well as an in-depth understanding of the Academy’s role and future development in the region. A strong vision for the School and its future development, alongside the Academy’s other schools and in line with the Academy’s strategic vision. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Evidence of successful outcomes in building productive partnerships with tertiary institutions, industry, and community groups. A willingness and enthusiasm to embrace, lead and manage change. Fluent in written and spoken English and preferably fluent in written and spoken Chinese/Cantonese. TERMS OF APPOINTMENT Appointment will be on a four-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement. A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period, may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, that equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Our faculty collaborates closely with industry on translational research and innovation with focus on addressing pertinent industry challenges to impact businesses.  The Singapore Teaching and Academic Research Talent (START) Scheme is co-funded by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and SIT to encourage and support outstanding young Singaporeans interested in pursuing an academic career at SIT. The Applied Research Fellowship aims to provide doctoral candidates who are about to complete or have recently completed their studies an opportunity to engage in advanced training and/or research at an overseas university for one year.  Besides financial support, awardees will also receive academic mentorship.  Upon completion of the Fellowship, awardees will be considered for Assistant Professorship. Eligibility and Selection Criteria Singapore citizen  Doctoral candidates who have recently completed or are about to complete their studies in a discipline under the supported areas for START below  Excellent academic record plus a high degree of proficiency and motivation for selected research area  Have been accepted or have applied for a postdoctoral training at a leading overseas university in a research area that is aligned with SIT’s supported areas  A keen interest in an academic career Value of Fellowship The Fellowship provides  Monthly stipend  Overseas maintenance allowance  Return economy airfare  Conference and fieldwork grants  Overseas medical insurance  Fellows will also each be assigned a SIT faculty mentor throughout their post-doctoral training and have opportunities to participate in faculty development programmes.  The fellowship is tenable for one year. On an exception basis, a two-year programme may be supported. Service Commitment One year for every year of sponsorship. Supported Areas for START - Health Sciences Diagnostic Radiography: Radiography involves the controlled use of ionising radiation, radioactive substances and non-ionising radiation to produce diagnostic quality images of the human body, facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of patients (Allied Health Professions Act 2011). Dietetics: Dietetics involves the management of medical conditions and promotion of health through application of food and nutrition. Dietitians provide medical nutrition therapy and implement specific diet strategies for chronic medical conditions, illnesses, or injuries (Singapore Nutrition and Dietetics Association). Nursing: Registered nurses render health services to individuals, families, and communities (Singapore Nursing Board Code for Nurses and Midwives 2018). Speech and Language Therapy: Speech and Language Therapy involves assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of communication and swallowing disorders (Allied Health Professions Act 2011). Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapy involves assessment and interventions to work or school, self-care, leisure or play, physical environments as well as cognitive, mental and physical components of function to enable individuals affected by physical injury or illness, developmental or learning disabilities, psychosocial dysfunctions or the aging process, to engage in everyday life occupations in order to maximise independent performance of life roles, prevent disability and maintain health (Allied Health Professions Act 2011). Physiotherapy: Physiotherapy involves assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of pain, injury, or any other physical dysfunction, through the use of education, exercise, manual therapy, electro-physical agents, technology or any other treatment for those purposes (Allied Health Professions Act 2011).
